Pre-finished or Unfinished Wood Planks?

There are many types of wood to choose from: hardwoods (maple, oak, cherry, beech, elm, etc.), softwoods (birch, poplar, basswood, etc.), fruitwood (such as cherry), resinous woods (pine, larch, etc.), or imported woods (ipe, teak, mahogany, mahogany, etc.). You can select your wood based on grain size, appearance, color, grain type, and more.

p>In stores, hardwood floor planks are sold either pre-finished or unfinished. Factory pre-finished planks are UV-resistant, protecting against sun-induced yellowing. However, this hard protective layer is challenging to sand down when the floor shows wear after several years.

By choosing unfinished flooring, you can select your preferred finish (matte, satin, or semi-gloss) and even have it oiled or stained. This type of floor is easy to sand and refresh after a few years. We use eco-friendly, odorless Vermeister finishing products.

When to Install Your Hardwood Floor

The ambient temperature should not exceed 20 degrees Celsius, and humidity should be around 50%. Additionally, it’s important to lay a wooden subfloor beneath the hardwood planks, along with a felt paper layer. Leave a few centimeters of space near the walls to allow the wood to expand due to humidity.
